Winter is coming, Skiwolves, but we still have some time left in the mountain biking season to get a few more laps in! We'll be hitting the slopes at the Mountain Creek Bike Park on Saturday, November 3rd for a day of gravity fueled fun on two wheels. Mountain Creek is home to the largest bike park in the mid-Atlantic and has terrain for all abilities, including some of the best beginner trails out there. No matter what your ability is on a mountain bike, we're confident you'll have an awesome day on the mountain.
Pricing for the trip is as follows:
$75 for a full day bike and protective gear rental, lift ticket, and transportation (no lesson)
$20 for a lift ticket and transportation only (for those providing their own mountain bike- see below)
+$24 for a group lesson
Pricing above is for current undergraduates only. Because this trip is partially subsided by the Undergraduate Student Government via the Student Activity Fee, we cannot apply the subsidy to non-undergrads. Grad students, alumni and non-SBU students are welcome on the trip but must pay the regular, discounted group rate which is an additional $49 per person.
All rentals include full face helmets as well as all protective padding (knees, shins and elbow).
For clothing, we recommend long sleeves, long pants, and cycling gloves (or a lightweight winter glove depending on the temperature).
This trip is limited to 12 participants (including only TWO spots for those owning a mountain bike!), so sign up soon to secure your spot. Your spot isn't guaranteed until payment is made online at http://mkt.com/skisbu.
As always, let us know if you have any questions. Email us at sbuskiclub@gmail.com!
