We are the #Skiwolves! Whether you've been skiing or snowboarding for years, or if you're a first timer who's been wanting to try, come join us for some awesome days on the mountain. We plan ski and snowboard trips for all abilities through the winter season, from December through April.
Once the snow melts, #Skiwolves keep going. Mountain biking, ziplining, hiking and more carry us through the warmer months, with other events though the year. Join our mailing list at bit.ly/skiwolves, and keep an eye out for events!
Since the first trip the club took in February 2015, hundreds of Stony Brook University students have joined us on a trip. As our rosters have grown and with increasing funding from the Undergraduate Student Government, our trips have become more and more affordable, allowing more Seawolves to become Skiwolves. What are you waiting for?
Most of our day trips are to the Catskill and Pocono Mountains to destinations like Belleayre, Hunter and Windham. We also take overnight trips to Vermont and northern New England over Spring Break and select weekends, and we head out west over Winter Break. For more info on where we go, head to this page. For more info on our executive board who plans and manages our trips and events, read on below.
2021-2022 E-Board
Kayla McKenna // PRESIDENT
Kayla McKenna is a second-year student at Stony Brook majoring in Psychology with a minor in English. Kayla got her start at snowboarding when she moved to work at Stowe Mountain Resort in Vermont for the 2021 Winter season. She immediately fell in love and tried to get out every day she could, pushing her limits. Along with snowboarding, Kayla loves running, hiking, and playing the guitar. Kayla is very excited for the upcoming year along with the rest of the Skiwolves and hopes to lead and accompany many trips whether it be skiing, mountain biking, or even ziplining!
Uriel Sychev // vice president
Uriel Sychev is a third-year double major student at Stony Brook studying information systems and business management. He first got into skiing only a few years ago while he was still in high school but he has enjoyed the sport ever since. He has skied the majority of the northeast and goes skiing at least once a season. He enjoys the thrill and the challenge associated with the sport and is constantly pushing himself to improve and go on more challenging runs. He is excited for this upcoming ski season and can’t wait to share his love for skiing with other people on the ski club trips!
Lolita nazarov // treasurer
Lolita Nazarov is an SBU senior double majoring in computer science and applied mathematics with a minor in music. An avid snowboarder in a previous life, she hopes to return to the slopes this season and survey a variety of mountains. Her favorite places to snowboard are tied between Vail, Mont Tremblant, and the Catskills. She's also a fan of all music genres and enjoys playing piano and (sometimes) organ.
As Treasurer, she hopes to run fun fundraisers, bring everyone Krispy Kreme doughnuts and keep the club's fiscal health in check. She's super stoked for this snowboard season and can't wait to meet new SkiWolves!
Atakan Kemal // SECRETARY
Atakan is a Math major who went on his first ski trip along with the ski club. Since then, he’s been hooked on the sport and hopes that others get a first chance to try it as well. Other sporty activities Atakan enjoys are mountain biking, skateboarding, and playing Dance Dance Revolution.
Seunghyun (Shelby) Lee // public relations
Shelby Lee is an SBU junior with a major in biology and a minor in Korean studies. An avid skier for about a decade, the slopes always had their special place in her heart. This year, she hopes to branch out and try snowboarding as well! In addition to skiing, Shelby loves hiking, camping, cuddling her cat, exercising, swimming, and playing tennis!
This year, as Public Relations Officer, she vows to keep the Skiwolves engaged and up-to-date via social media. Despite not having the technological capabilities of a rocket scientist, she promises to try her best! Thrilled for the new year, Shelby cannot wait to meet everyone and serve as the upcoming PR!
Samantha Lankowicz // Graphic Designer
Sam is a sophomore Atmospheric science and Geology double major. She started skiing when she was 8 years old at a small mountain in Pennsylvania, and now her favorite place to shred the slopes is Mont Tremblant in Canada. Sam loves challenging runs but also loves to help beginners share her excitement for the sport. Don’t be afraid to ask Sam about skiing or about the weather on the mountain! When she’s not on the slopes, Sam is also a member of the Spirit of Stony Brook Marching band and tennis club.
As Graphic Designer, Sam plans to create exciting and informative fliers and posts to attract new members to the club and make sure members are aware of every Ski Club event. Sam can’t wait to get the Skiwolves on the slopes and bring new Skiwolves on-board!
Kayla St. Denis // Event Coordinator
Kayla St. Denis is a junior double majoring in Applied Math & Statistics and Business Management. Skiing is one of Kayla’s favorite activities. She has been skiing since she was 3 years old and goes skiing every year. Within the past 4 years, she has enjoyed teaching multiple friends how to ski. Additionally, Kayla loves being active outside with her dog, friends, and family. Kayla is looking forward to meeting her fellow Skiwolves and having an amazing year!

Past E-Board
Huge amounts of gratitude go out to our past e-board, who helped shape the club as it is today. Many of our past e-board have put countless hours and effort into planning trips, events and more. We wouldn't be where we are today, in terms of the number of trips we offer, the ambition behind the events we plan, or the number of members we have, if it wasn't for the awesome e-board who've been with us from Day 1.
